
DENNIS E. GUMP (Retired)
Attorney Denny Gump has over forty (40) years of experience. He graduated from Ohio University, and obtained his law degree at Ohio Northern School of Law, where he graduated with honors. He was named in “Who’s Who” in college and law school.
He has received numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career from various organizations. “Denny” was a former assistant prosecuting attorney for Montgomery County. He has served as an “Acting Judge” in various Montgomery County Courts during the past forty years.
He, his wife, Vi, and their daughter, Alexa, reside in Kettering, Ohio. He is a member of the following organizations: American Bar Association; The Dayton Bar Association, Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Miami Valley Trial Lawyers; Greenberg Family Law Forum; Volunteer Lawyers Project, Ohio Supreme Court Mentor’s Program, plus many more.

Christopher Deal
Christopher Deal has been a legal defense and Ohio litigation attorney in the greater Dayton area since the beginning of his legal career and has since earned a reputation as an aggressive Dayton, Ohio defense attorney. He attended the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a minor in Psychology.
Attorney Deal was awarded a scholarship from the University of Dayton School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree and subsequently launched his career as successful and well respected legal professional.
Attorney Deal has over ten years of experience and focuses his practice on criminal defense, appellate, civil litigation, juvenile law and family law, including divorce, dissolution, annulment, child custody, child support, and spousal support. He is licensed to practice in all Courts in the State of Ohio as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He is a member of both the Dayton Bar Association and the Greene County Bar Association. Attorney Deal has also handled multiple successful criminal and civil cases throughout Ohio and has received several awards and accolades recognizing his hard work and client dedication.
In 2009, Attorney Deal was awarded “Criminal Defense Appointed Counsel of the Year” by the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court. Attorney Deal also lectures at seminars to other attorneys on trial preparation on behalf of the Dayton Bar Association. Additionally, he gives back to the local community as he has extensive pro bono experience through the Volunteers Lawyers Project and Legal Aid.”

Nicole Rutter-Hirth
Nicole Rutter-Hirth wanted to be an attorney even as a child. With that career path in mind, she attended Bowling Green State University studying Criminal Justice and Sociology. While at BGSU, she worked for the Lucas County Family Drug Court and was recognized as the Outstanding Intern of the Year. She then went on to attend the University of Toledo, College of Law. During that time, she worked for both the Lucas County Common Pleas Court and two law firms, practicing criminal defense and family law. Upon completion of law school and passage of the bar in 2006, she moved to the Dayton area.
Since 2006, Nicole has practiced in the areas of criminal and traffic defense, family law, and appellate/post-conviction remedies. For 10 years, she served as an area firm’s lead appellate counsel. As a result, she drafted and argued appeals all over Ohio, including in the federal Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She has also handled cases in Indiana and Michigan. Nicole handles family law matters on a daily basis, including cases involving unique legal issues. Nicole has litigated prenuptial agreements, division of businesses and other assets, complex custody issues, and has experience and specialized training in representing same-sex couples in custody disputes.

Chloe E. Kirby
Chloe is an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Gump Deal & Hirth and focuses her practice on family law, criminal law, and estate planning. Chloe attended The Ohio State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Legal Foundations of Society. She then attended the University of Dayton School of Law, where she obtained a Juris Doctorate.
Chloe joined the Law Offices of Gump, Deal & Hirth during her second year of law school, where she gained invaluable experience working on a plethora of custody and divorce cases. During her last year of law school, Chloe also worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Timothy Tepe at the Warren County Common Pleas Court.
After passing the bar exam, Chloe was sworn in as a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, making her a third generation attorney. Chloe works diligently for her clients, understanding she is there to help them navigate through the most difficult times of their lives.
